This installation explores and subverts traditional structures of power and control. On one hand it conforms to the traditional stereotype of woman as passive, idealised; offered up for possession to a controlling viewer consumer. On the other hand it blocks such a stereotypical perspective. Nothing complete is offered for possession; each collage is a fractured composite that is further broken up and disrupted by the placement of metal rods. Power shifts from the viewer where one would expect it to reside back to the seemingly passive and powerless collages.
